Hani Khasati is an experienced healthcare professional, industry manager and leader with almost 25 years of work behind him, much of that with Abbott. Educated in Jordan, Hani started his professional career in Jordan in the pharmaceutical industry in 1994, joining Abbott three years later. He then moved to the Gulf with Abbott International where he held several roles and responsibilities across Abbott’s various businesses including Sales Manager UAE, and National Sales Manager Emerging Markets. He joined Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) specifically in 2010 as Business Development Manager for the MEA region, then to Commercial Director for MEA, Turkey & Greece. For two years, he was ADC Country Manager for the Gulf, Levant, and Africa before taking on his current, wider Regional Director role. Hani played a key role in one of the world’s largest public-sector diabetes testing programs; in Saudi Arabia in 2013 where Abbott won a national project to provide critical diabetes education, support, and testing-supplies to 800,000 Saudi citizens with diabetes. He went on to secure reimbursement for Abbott’s next-generation continuous blood-glucose monitoring device, Freestyle Libre, in major accounts in the Gulf region, including the Saudi Ministry of Health. This project included opening more than 100 Experience Centers in the region, providing patient education and access. Hani has also expanded Abbott’s offering to Egypt, North Africa and Pakistan, and is driving Abbott’s engagement with authorities in the region around emerging Data Privacy regulations. He has also been instrumental in Abbott’s engagement with e-commerce to make medical devices more accessible. Hani is family man, married, and has three children.
